The Rock & Roll Lifestyle of a Guitar Maker
We got back early Saturday afternoon. The trip was a complete blast. Jim Normandy rocks! The club was great. The band was great. Lighting was a bitch, but I got some good shots. While it’s all rock and roll, it’s not always glamorous. The drive was long. We ate fast food and drank bad coffee, and got stuck in horrendous traffic both ways. And one of my favorite shots of the night came when Jim was doing business in his “office”.

Seige at Labrang Monastery
The NYT has a video discussing the conflicts that have arisen at the Labrang Monastery in Gansu Province, China. This is such disheartening news. It just leaves me with such a sense of dread. Most of my friends will be familiar with the photo below from my own visit to this monastery in the summer of 1998. I landed in Beijing on my 30th birthday, and backpacked throughout Northern China following one of the Silk Routes with my one major detour to visit the Labrang Monastery.
