best friends

Our good friend, Jenny (Alex’s Mom), reads to Liam and Alex on Liam’s new ‘big boy’ bed. Yes, Liam just got a haircut.
Oops!… I Did It Again

I sold a couple pieces of equipment, and parlayed that into a used Bronica SQ-A. I have to use a paperclip to trigger the release latch for the film back, but I’m very excited about this camera. I will still being shooting digital a majority of the time, but I have some very specific ideas for the use of this Bronica, too.
Sorry, no knees & toes
Heads and Shoulders. A new collection on my portfolio site.

Side Street Reny
My latest commercial shoot was with Side Street Reny,(Official Site), a root’s n blues band from Portland, Oregon (via Brooklyn). They are incredible people, and a great band. I had a lot of fun with them, which is a great added bonus on a commercial shoot. I’m quite happy with the results. Here’s a few shots.
Going to extremes
After reading this, and having it feel like I’d been punched in the stomach & exclaim, “I hate people!”. I needed to go to extremes to find it’s opposite. Believe me this is uncharted waters for me. Behold:

John Doe, b&w

John Doe & Kathleen Edwards
Good friend, Timmy Knight (Guitar Castle), called this morning to let me know that his friend, John Doe (yes, that John Doe) would be stopping by his shop. John is currently touring with Kathleen Edwards. They will be in Seattle tonight, and Portland tomorrow.
I saw X last back in the late ’80s. Definitely, one of my favorite bands. Needless to say, when TK asked me if I could come by with my camera, there was no hesitation.

Saturday Session

The Big Picture, indeed.

dark cloud, silver lining, you know the drill
Trying the ‘glass, half-full’ approach. Yesterday’s breakin and theft, allowed me to forget that the TSA screwed up my Koni-Omega camera (the film back) when traveling back East. I packed the camera in my check-in baggage. I know, stupid! But traveling with a 2 year-old causes you to sacrifice items like medium format cameras for Thomas the Train books. Trust me.
Well, the TSA agents must have been very suspicious of the camera, as they removed the back and ventured a look inside. Well you have to be careful when you attach the back onto the body, and they weren’t. I think I’ll be able to fix it. But frustrating nonetheless.
cousins
After the theft of my lighting equipment (& raincoat), I felt the need to elevate my mood. Normally, I’d just post this to Liam’s World, but after this morning it’s going up here.

That’s Liam between his cousins (l-r), Declan & Braxton.
